CATIA | How to Create an Extrusion Not Normal to Sketch Plane (2025)

Hi Everyone, in this Blog Post you Will Discover How to Create an Extrusion Not Normal to Sketch Plane using the Part Design Workbench of CATIA.

So the First Step in this Tutorial Will be entering the Part Design Workbench (see image below)

Select the ‘enable hybrid design’ option then click ok.

Click on the XY Plane, then click on Sketch.

Click on the Centered Rectangle Command, then draw a rectangle as you can see in the image below.

Add 100 mm dimension for the length and the width.

Click on the (YZ) Plane, then go to sketch.

Create a Line starting from the center of the axis.

Create an Angle of 45 Degrees Between the line and the previous sketch of the centered rectangle.

Click on Selection, then click on the centered rectangle sketch.

Uncheck the ‘normal to profile’ option.

 Click the Line sketch, then click ok.

This is the final result of a pad not normal to the sketch plane.
